Join the Prestigious

Masterworks Society

Ballet Chicago established the Masterworks Society, a premiere giving group, to recognize the company’s most dedicated annual supporters. The name Masterworks Society pays homage to the Ballet Chicago training method, which is firmly rooted in the Balanchine tradition and meticulously maintained by Artistic Directors Daniel Duell and Patricia Blair. As one of Chicago’s leading cultural institutions, Ballet Chicago’s artistic and educational prominence continues to excel, and its proprietary relationship with the catalogue of George Balanchine’s masterpieces gives the company unique stature on the American dance landscape.

Mission

The Masterworks Society provides critical annual funding for the scholarships and opportunities that are available to the young people who participate in Ballet Chicago training programs. Members of the Masterworks Society may choose to direct their contributions to one of three critical Ballet Chicago funds: the Philip and Marsha Down Merit Scholarship Program, which provides programming and tuition support for gifted students; the Dance for Tomorrow program, which gives children who are in foster care, adoption, and low-income environments the opportunity to thrive in our structured and supportive training program; or the Ballet Chicago General Operating Fund, which ensures top-quality performance opportunities for young artists on the professional stage.
